Web Development Immersive

Successfully completed an immersive 12-week, 500+ hour full-stack web development career accelerator with a focus on building a strong foundation in programming fundamentals and industry best practices.

Developed the front-end and back-end of web applications using JavaScript, React, jQuery, AJAX, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, REST, Express, MongoDB, Mongoose, HTML, CSS, Sass, Handlebars, and Bootstrap. Git and Github were used for version control.

• A full-stack single page web application built with Express and React and integrated with Google Maps where users can create, manage, and share customized travel itineraries categorized by interest
• Technologies included: JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, Mongoose, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and Google Maps
• Used a single page app architecture communicating with a RESTful API backend
• Enforced user-specific permissions and resource ownership

• A full-stack single page web application that allows users to make room reservations for medical equipment
• Technologies included: JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and Sass
• Used object-oriented principles to create users with role-specific permissions
• Created a single page app for the front-end with a Ruby on Rails back-end, utilizing AJAX and RESTful APIs

• A full-stack single page web application that was created in collaboration with a group of 3 developers - Sarah Hale, Greg Smith, and Anthony Palmoze
• Technologies included: Express, MongoDB, Mongoose, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and Handlebars
• Application allows users to create, edit, and delete surveys of their own, view and take other's surveys, and to view all survey results
• Enforced user-specific permissions and resource ownership
• Served as the backend lead and utilized Scrum methodologies to manage project life cycle

• Wrote front-end of game application to interact with a third-party RESTful API
• Technologies included: JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and Sass
• Implemented user authentication, game logic, and a view of previous games
• Utilized ES6 features, including modules and promises, to produce clean, modular code

App Developer

• Contributed heavily to Mark One, our React component library, which was published to npm
• Implemented numerous features within Course Planner, a TypeScript-based single page app for Harvard undergraduate course planning, from frontend React components to backend controllers (using NestJS) and database views (using TypeORM and PostgreSQL), using Docker for the environment
• Wrote frontend and backend unit and integration tests using React Testing Library and Sinon.JS
• Contributed to Study Plan, a web app using Handlebars on the frontend and Ruby on Rails on the backend
• Participated in an agile development process, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning reviews and retrospectives
• Used Github to create and review PRs

Senior Client Order Specialist

• Oversaw VIP client accounts under Global Corporate Solutions and delivered timely resolutions for all issues and requests
• Performed user acceptance testing to identify system issues and relay results and recommendations to the engineering team
• Led several systems trainings for global account management and sales teams and created process documentation guides that are regularly used across the organization
• Troubleshooted client-reported errors daily over email and phone in accordance with defined SLAs
• Managed contracts for global clients and processed credit and cancellation requests

Onboarding Specialist

• Trained 100+ clients on using Legacy and NextGen GlobeNewswire press release distribution platforms
• Collaborated with internal technology teams to resolve client-reported issues and conveyed solutions to clients

Admissions Assistant

• Assisted prospective graduate school candidates through email, telephone, and in person with queries regarding application requirements and processes
• Processed and maintained confidential application materials of graduate school candidates using Folderwave database in preparation for review by all departments

Compliance Intern

• Updated Boston College's Athletics Compliance website using HTML and CSS to promote rules and regulations compliant with NCAA standards
• Led a major project to increase local businesses’ awareness of NCAA's compliance laws to prevent violations through interactions with student athletes
• Updated the Institutional Request List (IRL) reports daily to vet eligibility of high school athlete recruits

Buying Intern

• Analyzed daily financial reports of various luxury brands and assisted in formulating future buying plans in preparation for major buying appointments
• Effectively applied market research findings at vendor and team meetings
• Actively participated in Saks Fifth Avenue’s Executive Excellence Program, which offered business classes, panel events with employees of various departments, and career seminars

Operations Intern

• Learned to properly inspect diamonds and examined hundreds of diamonds that were subsequently shipped to vendors nationwide
• Improved operations process by identifying areas of waste and by developing and implementing a more efficient process for the diamond inspection process

Nutrition Department Intern

• Oversaw hundreds of tissue specimens and mammograms of cancer patients that were sent from hospitals across the US for research purposes
• Processed and prepared all tissue blocks and slides for delivery to the Channing Laboratory
• Updated medical research database containing sensitive hospital and patient records daily

Securities Finance Intern

• Generated daily cash reports and monthly financial statements for review by Securities team and major clients
• Actively participated in workshops on stock investments, securities finance, and sustainable business practices
