General Assembly

Successfully completed an immersive 12-week, 500+ hour full-stack web development career accelerator with a focus on building a strong foundation in programming fundamentals and industry best practices.

Developed the front-end and back-end of web applications using JavaScript, React, jQuery, AJAX, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, REST, Express, MongoDB, Mongoose, HTML, CSS, Sass, Handlebars, and Bootstrap. Git and Github were used for version control.

  • Used a single page app architecture communicating with a RESTful API backend

Room Reservation Management Application
  • A full-stack single page web application that allows users to make room reservations for medical equipment
  • Technologies included: JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and Sass
  • Used object-oriented principles to create users with role-specific permissions
  • Created a single page app for the front-end with a Ruby on Rails back-end, utilizing AJAX and RESTful APIs

Survey Application
  • A full-stack single page web application that was created in collaboration with a group of 3 developers - Sarah Hale, Greg Smith, and Anthony Palmoze
  • Technologies included: Express, MongoDB, Mongoose, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and Handlebars
  • Application allows users to create, edit, and delete surveys of their own, view and take other's surveys, and to view all survey results

  • Served as the backend lead and utilized Scrum methodologies to manage project life cycle

  • Contributed heavily to Mark One, our React component library, which was published to npm
  • Implemented numerous features within Course Planner, a TypeScript-based single page app for Harvard undergraduate course planning, from frontend React components to backend controllers (using NestJS) and database views (using TypeORM and PostgreSQL), using Docker for the environment
  • Wrote frontend and backend unit and integration tests using React Testing Library and Sinon.JS
  • Contributed to Study Plan, a web app using Handlebars on the frontend and Ruby on Rails on the backend
  • Participated in an agile development process, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning reviews and retrospectives
